Shelborne is undoubtedly the most charming neighborhood in Granite Bay, which is saying a lot considering Granite Bay is one of the most desirable communities in the Placer and North Sacramento area.

Located off Auburn Folsom Drive, Shelborne is a gated community, easily recognized by its majestic gateway – serving as both the entrance and exit of this intimate neighborhood. Essentially one loop road with a number of cul de sacs, Shelborne is comprised of just 87 homes. The grounds are a lush, park-like setting with granite outcroppings, complete with large pond.

The homes are large, immaculate, and elegant – ranging in style from Tudor and Mediterranean to contemporary, but it’s the surrounding foliage that’s truly extravagant. Decidedly California, Shelborne exudes bit of east coast grandeur, complete with mossy brick accents, dignified pillars, and stunning displays of fall color. The security-minded can be at ease with 24/7 camera surveillance.

The homeowners association keeps the area cohesive and spirited with a number of events, most notably the annual barbeque, Easter egg hunt, and ladies ornament exchange. The area is served by Eureka School District and Granite Bay High School. Eureka Union consistently holds the highest academic performance index of any district within 50 miles of Sacramento and is a major draw for the community. Families can fill their time and find support through a number of equestrian centers located nearby, as well as a MOMS club, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, youth soccer, Junior Grizzly Football and Cheer, and little league. The Granite Bay Library offers weekly story times for preschoolers, as well as toddlers.

Folsom Lake is just minutes away, as are a number of golf courses and parks. Roseville’s endless shopping options are also conveniently close. The Galleria and Fountains alone offer just about everything one could need, but nearly every other nationally-known store you can imagine are all centrally located within just a few miles. Even with all the retail possibilities close by, Granite Bay locals still head to Quarry Ponds Town Center for tappas, Thai food, Peet’s Coffee, and Capitol Cellars wine bar.
